Story Introduction:

One of the new trends in the field has been the emergence of publications available online by paid subscription or payfor- download. One of these is the quarterly Aeon Speculative Fiction (http://www.aeonmagazine.com), published out of Seattle by Marti McKenna and Bridget McKenna. In their first issues, they have published new fiction by (among many others) Lori Ann White, Ken Scholes, Lawrence Schoen, Joe Murphy, Gene Wolfe, and Sarah Monette - all present or past Best of the Rest authors. They must be doing something right.

“Green” is from Aeon #5, published in November 2005.
